Buntingford lies astride the A10 road some 35 miles north of London and some 20 miles south of the university town of Cambridge.

The United Reformed Church was created in 1972 by joining together the Congregational Church in England and Wales and the Presbyterian Church in England. In 1981 Churches of Christ united with the United Reformed Church and in April 2000 the Congregational Church in Scotland united with us.

Christ Church is part of the Eastern Synod of the URC and has a small but active membership.

The current church was built in 1819 following a fire that destroyed an earlier building. In recent years the Church Buildings have undergone major renovation and part of the improvements has been the provision of access and toilets for the diabled to both the Church and the hall. The history of the church can be seen in the "church history" page.

The following pages show that the church is very active in promoting several 'in church' clubs and activities. The church is also involved in outside activities by supporting several organisations such as Christian Aid in its fund raising events and hosting their regular ploughmans lunches.

Christ Church has joined with other churches to form "Churches Together" an ecumenical gathering of the local United Reformed, Anglican and Roman Catholic churches - Further details can be seen in the "Churches Together" page.
